Barefoot's is open! The restaurant has new owners who have completely remodeled and refurbished it. They have a full, well stocked bar and a menu featuring raw oysters, live lobsters, frog legs, crab bisque, some cajun dishes, fork-tender steaks and more. The food is awesome!

Heard the roof collapsed in back during the heavy snows of the winter of '09-'10, broke a gas line, and caused a fire. Building has a "for lease" sign on it.

The store has closed and taken over by the antique mall that was downstairs. They've opened up the old stairs to the lower floor that had been hidden for years.

This is the a great site! I have been to Fredricksburg several times. I've been through many of histories buildings in Fredricksburg. My brother, George W. Bennett lived west of town. His daughter Janette and her husband Mike Evans live south of Spotsylvania. I must return to Fredricksburg while I still can. I had a most wonderful dining experience at the Chimneys restaurant maybe 20 yrs. ago. Wow! What history in your town. dbennett51@Cox.net
